Terms of service
The agreement between you and Wyrm Host. It is written to be read rather than skipped — if a clause is unclear, ask and we will explain it.
Effective 2026-09-19 · Pratik Hemanshu Patel, trading as Wyrm Host
Who you are contracting with
Wyrm Host is Pratik Hemanshu Patel, trading as Wyrm Host, at 4242 1st Ave, Unit #1036, Lyons, IL 60534, United States. "We", "us" and "our" mean Pratik Hemanshu Patel, trading as Wyrm Host; "you" means the person who opens an account.
These terms cover the wyrmhost.io website and the world-hosting service sold through it. By creating an account or buying a plan you accept them.
What the service is
We run a private RuneScape: Dragonwilds dedicated server — a "world" — on hardware we rent, on your behalf. You choose a plan and a region; we give you a connect address and a join password to share with the people you want to play with.
You need your own legitimately obtained copy of the game to play. We do not sell, licence, or supply the game, and we are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Jagex.
A world is a private server for a small group. It is not a general-purpose virtual machine, and the plans are not sold as one — see acceptable use below.
Your account
Keep your email address accurate and your password to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us promptly at crew@wyrmhost.io if you think someone else has access.
You must be old enough to enter a binding contract where you live. If you are under 18, an adult has to hold the account and pay for it.
One person, one account. Do not share logins or resell access to your account.
Acceptable use
These are the things that get a world suspended. Most of them exist because a single abusive world degrades the service for everyone else on the same hardware.
- Nothing illegal, and nothing that infringes somebody else's rights.
- No harassment of other players, and no hosting of content that is hateful, sexualised involving minors, or designed to threaten a person.
- No attacks launched from your world — no scanning, flooding, denial of service, spam, botnets, or proxying of traffic for others.
- No using a world as general compute: no mining, no rendering farms, no file distribution, no software other than the game server we install.
- No attempt to break out of your world, reach another customer's world, or interfere with our control systems.
- No reselling a world as your own hosting product without our written agreement.
- No circumventing the player cap, plan limits, or resource limits of your plan.
What we do and do not promise
We will use reasonable skill and care to keep your world available, patched, and reachable, and we will tell you when we plan maintenance that takes a world offline.
We do not offer a guaranteed uptime percentage or service credits. Game servers depend on the game's own builds, and a publisher update can break a working world with no notice; when that happens we will get you onto a working build as quickly as we can, but we cannot promise a window.
Your world is backed up hourly while it runs and we keep those save points for seven days, which is what the pricing page promises and what you can ask us to restore. Those backups live on the same machine as the world, so they protect you against a bad save or an in-game mistake — not against the loss of the machine itself. Keep your own copy of anything you would be genuinely upset to lose.
We may change the hardware, region capacity, or provider behind a plan, so long as we do not reduce what the plan says it gives you.
Fees, billing and price changes
Plans are a flat monthly price, charged in advance, and renew automatically each month until cancelled. Prices are shown on the pricing page and at checkout before you pay.
Payments are taken by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details. If a payment fails we will retry it for a short period; if it keeps failing we will stop your world, and eventually delete it.
Prices shown may exclude sales tax, VAT or GST, which is calculated at checkout based on where you are.
We may change the price of a plan. If we do, we will email you at least 30 days before it affects you, and you are free to cancel before it does.
Cancelling, refunds and delivery
You can cancel at any time from your account's billing page. Your world keeps running until the end of the period you have paid for, and is then stopped and deleted.
We refund a first subscription in full within 14 days, and we refund in full whenever we fail to deliver a working world — including if a paid world is not online within 24 hours. The full policy, with how to ask, is on the refunds page.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or delete a world for non-payment, or immediately for a breach of acceptable use that is causing harm — an attack in progress, or illegal content. Where it is safe and lawful to do so we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix it.
You can close your account at any time by asking us at crew@wyrmhost.io. We may close yours with 30 days' notice if we stop offering the service, and will refund the unused part of anything you have paid.
After a world is deleted its data is erased within 30 days and cannot be recovered after that.
Your content, and ours
Your world, its save data, and its name are yours. You give us only the permission we need to host and operate them for you — to store them, move them between machines, and show them back to you.
The site, the control panel, and our own software remain ours. RuneScape: Dragonwilds and RuneScape are trademarks of Jagex Ltd, used here only to say which game these servers run.
Third parties we rely on
Running this service means using other companies: Stripe for payments, infrastructure providers for the machines your world runs on, a DNS and network provider in front of the site, and Discord for support chat. Their failures can become your outage, and we are not liable for their acts beyond our own duty to choose and manage them with reasonable care.
Liability
Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited — including your non-excludable rights as a consumer.
Subject to that: we are not liable for lost profits, lost data, lost saves, or indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability for any claim is capped at the amount you paid us in the three months before it arose.
This is a low-cost hosting service for playing a game with friends, and the cap reflects that. If you need guaranteed availability or guaranteed data durability, this is not the right product.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change materially reduces your rights we will email you at least 30 days beforehand; continuing to use the service after that counts as accepting it. The effective date at the top of this page always tells you which version you are reading.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, United States, and its courts have jurisdiction over any dispute. If you are a consumer elsewhere, this does not take away the protections of your home country's law.
Talk to us first: most problems are settled faster by email to crew@wyrmhost.io than by anything else.
